About Café Scientifique
Café Scientifique is a place where anyone can come to enjoy something to drink and eat and explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Meetings take place in cafés, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context.
Cafe Scientifique is a forum for debating science issues, not a shop window for science, although all speakers are experts in their field.
Audiences consist of people who are interested in science but who rarely have the opportunity to discuss their
views with, and ask questions of, someone "in the know". No scientific knowledge is assumed by the speakers, so anyone can participate. If you would rather just listen, that's fine too.
